A Walkthrough Survey Inspection is a concise, visual assessment of a vessel
Intended to provide the client with a general overview of its condition without the formality or depth of a full marine survey. This service is ideal for buyers or owners who want a professional opinion before committing to a more comprehensive inspection or purchase decision.
Unlike a Pre-Purchase or Condition & Valuation Survey, the Walkthrough Inspection does not include a sea trial or haul out, and no formal written report is produced.
Instead, the surveyor provides a detailed email summary of findings, observations, pictures and recommendations following the visit.
A Walkthrough Inspection usually takes a couple of hours to complete, depending on the vessel’s size and accessibility.
Pricing is based on the vessel’s size, type, and location, and can be quoted upon request.
When to Consider a Walkthrough Inspection
This service is ideal for:
- Buyers considering multiple vessels and wanting a quick professional opinion
- Owners seeking a brief condition check before listing a boat for sale
- Clients needing reassurance before traveling to view a vessel in person
- Initial evaluations prior to committing to a full Pre-Purchase or C&V Survey
